Howdy folks –
Well, Coley and I finally made it back to Texas yesterday after being gone since June 19. We covered a lot of ground in that time frame and visited Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, Oregon, Washington, Iowa, Illinois, California, Oklahoma, and Michigan. Whew! Glad to be back. For a minute….
We are in Waller, TX right now at the ranch of our buddy and fellow Tejas Vaquero Rigo Flores. It’s about an hour Northwest of Houston, which is still a huge mess. Lots of roads are still flooded and closed, lots of people in shelters and 180,000 homes flooded. Can only hope that Hurricane Irma runs out of steam before it hits the Florida keys. Hoping for the best for our South Florida friends.
Well, our beloved American Dream coach is about to be on the market! We are looking at new rigs next week that have bunks and slide outs. Our asking price is $32,000. Message us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested. It is a ’97 Fleetwood American Dream with 156K miles on a 325 Cummins diesel engine with an Allison transmission. Queen size bed in the back. Tile floors, ice maker, washer/dryer combo. No slide outs. Tires less than a year old. This thing runs great and is in good condition. A couple minor cosmetic issues, if you email me I will fill you in. The rig is currently outside of Houston.
And here is a video that gives you a tour of the rig:
We are putting together a live CD from shows we’ve recorded over the past year. Trying to decide on a title. Thinking either “Live Across America” or “Road Songs & Stories.” If you have a clever idea, let us know. Hoping to have it ready by this November!
This weekend I’m heading up near Bellingham, WA for a couple of shows. Coley will be staying in Texas as she has some business meetings this weekend. Then next Wednesday Sept 13 we are at T-bone Tom’s in Kemah, which miraculously had no flood damage.
On September 16 we will be performing at Phlock to the Falls!
After the Niagara Falls , I am heading to Nashville to record a duet with my buddy Mark Mulligan. We wrote a song together called “Same Beer, Different Can” and the second verse in it is about something special that happened on our last trip to Saudi Arabia. Looking forward to getting back to Nashville for a few days!
Do any of these places sound interesting?
